There have been many apps written about in the Lady Boss Blogger blogs. Perhaps the newest and most exciting is something called Clubhouse. In our current political climate, completely polar and differing views make it difficult to even talk to one another, let alone attempt a compromise. Clubhouse is an awesome new way to get involved in discussions about current events and to relate to your fellow man!
What is Clubhouse?
Clubhouse is a new social media app created by Paul Davison and Rohan Seth. Although it only possessed a few thousand users in the past, it has since exploded with popularity.
The platform is divided into two groups: those who are speaking, and those who are listening. A moderator oversees the general conversation, allowing someone who was spoken over to add something or kick out anyone who is being unruly or a ‘troll.’
Why is it so popular?
As I mentioned above, Clubhouse’s goal is to foster intelligent, thought-provoking discussions. However, it has more of a structure than other apps like Twitter.
Anyone unwilling to actually debate or someone focused on spreading hate is able to be removed. This allows for the atmosphere to stay positive and produces actual results among those speaking and listening.
Here’s why you should join:
Clubhouse has a humanizing effect on every person. It essentially creates a safe space for people to learn and express their opinions.
If you’re looking to step into the limelight more, or even just brush up on current events and run your thoughts by other people, the app is very helpful!
It’s a great way for an influencer to interact with fans, or a working person to figure out what to say at the water cooler. Little to no judgment and free of negative people!
Clubhouse is incredibly important for branding. Its open structure for discussion displays an air of transparency for anyone interested in your company or influence. While it boasts itself as open to any and all walks of people, it has been most popular among teenagers.
The past polarizing elections have left many of the younger generation wary of news sites that lean one way or another. As silly as it may seem, most teenagers and young adults enjoy learning about world events through social media apps. They offer multiple different sources of information and allow an open conversation even within the comment section under such videos.
Clubhouse seeks to build a similar structure, and allows anyone looking for more, bias-free information to join, listen, and talk!
