What motivated and inspired you to start your own business?
I started my business after I was fired from all the jobs I’ve ever had. I am literally that girl who was fired within the first 2 months because she didn’t follow the rules or just lost interest in the position.
Aside from that, being broke in Los Angeles also motivated me. I was fresh out of college and working as a freelance model. It seems all “glitz and glam” on the outside but on the inside, it’s really hard to make money in LA as a model. So I wanted to create a platform where I could teach myself and my peers how to make money.

Where is your business based?
Los Angeles.
What were the first few steps you took to get your business up and running?
The first step that I took was coming up with the name. After I did that, I went to check all of the social media platforms and signed up to own the names. Then I went and purchased the domain name to the website.
Once that was finished, I filed for a DBA because I was not sure of the workings of the LLC. I recommend these steps to everyone.
What has been the most effective way of raising awareness of your business and getting new customers?
The most effective thing for me has been putting on events. This is a great way to gather people and promote whatever you need.
What have been your biggest challenges so far?
The biggest challenges that I’ve had so far did not come from the business, but from within I battled with depression and anxiety and just finding the will and strength to keep going would sometimes be very overwhelming.
How did you overcome these challenges?
The way that I overcame the challenges of depression was to seek help from friends. I would talk to my friend Aman a lot and he would always give me the answers to my problems which was to change my mindset and thinking habits.
How do you keep motivated through difficult times?
My faith keeps me motivated. I honestly just remind myself that everything is going to be okay and that God has my back and to be honest with you. For some reason, he always pulls through.
How do you distinguish yourself from your competitors?
The way that I distinguish myself is by simply being me! My competitors don’t have me. They don’t get access to my thoughts, my strategies or my core values as a human being. So even if we have similar platforms, they will be missing the most important piece to the puzzle. ME!
What is the best advice you have received recently?
Never settle for less.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
Get control of your thoughts. They are extremely powerful and can dictate your business outcome. Also be aware of the types of things you are thinking and absorbing because that will affect your thoughts as well.
What is a good article or book you have read recently?
Battlefield of the Mind: Winning the Battle in Your Mind by Joyce Meyer.
What are you currently learning about for your business or looking for help with?
The thing that I’m learning about my business is that it’s definitely needed right now. People want to be independent and I’m just happy to be the one to supply them with that opportunity.
What are your goals for the next few months and how are you striving to achieve them?
The goal for the next few months is to continue growing the Latin Division to the Stylers Panel community called Latina Beauty Matters. We will be having a host of exciting events and workshops throughout the rest of the year.
