I’m positive you’ve heard of at least one incredible LinkedIn success story.

Many people wonder how this LinkedIn success is even possible. How did someone become successful in their profession by using a social media platform?

It’s much simpler than most might think!

Here are 5 tips for professional success on LinkedIn.

1. Make Connections

CONNECT! That’s what LinkedIn is all about.

Connect with people who inspire you, work at your favorite brands, or even former co-workers. These connections can lead to professional opportunities later.

2. Keep Your Profile Updated

Keeping your profile updated is very important because potential business connections will have access to your profile.

Always make sure your most recent education, job, and skills are updated.

It’s also important to link your work if you’re in a creative field. If you’re a blogger, make sure your blog is linked under your bio.

3. Reach Out

Never be afraid to reach out to people who inspire you or work at companies you admire. To find inspiration, you can follow community hashtags on the platform. LinkedIn is the perfect professional platform to do this on.

You could introduce yourself, ask for advice, and ask if they know of any available jobs in your area of expertise.

Most people get jobs through mutual friends and connections so now is the time to make some new friends on LinkedIn.

4. Create Posts

Like on any other social media website, LinkedIn posts can go viral. Amazing viral posts can be seen by companies in your realm and lead to them reaching out to you!

Popular posts on LinkedIn tend to be:

  • Stories of triumph
  • Inspirational quotes
  • Statistics about companies you work/worked for

5. Look For Job Postings

LinkedIn isn’t always the #1 website people look for jobs on – but it should be!

LinkedIn can tell you who works at the company, even in your department, that you’re applying for.

This can lead to you reaching out and connections being made that improve your chances of getting a position.
