March is Women’s History Month in the US. If you are a woman or have any amazing ladies in your life it is the perfect time to dedicate some much-needed time to learning and growing in the name of girl power! Here are 4 ways to celebrate women’s history month this March.
1. Learn something new
One great way to celebrate women’s history month is committing to learning something new about women’s history. There are so many easy ways to do this. Go to your local library and take out a book on a female trailblazer from history or even just google Women’s History month and gain some new knowledge that way. There is no right or wrong way to learn, but it is so beneficial to do so.
2. Make a brave decision
If you are a woman, another way you can celebrate women’s history month is by making a brave decision. This isn’t to say make a reckless decision or to do something you aren’t comfortable with by saying it is women’s empowerment. You want to make sure that you are making decisions that empower you. Therefore, a brave decision might look like saying no to someone who is trying to take advantage of you or it could also look like you decided to finally go after that dream you have been holding on to. You can do anything you put your mind to. Bravery is not a scarce quality, it is innately a part of us all, we just have to choose to use it.
3. Help women in need
Helping women in need is also an amazing way to celebrate Women’s History Month. It is so important for women to support women. Together we are stronger and it is a beautiful thing to see a woman helping another woman up. There are multiple resources where you can donate (one organization I love is She’s The First), but even donating to a friend or community member in need is a fantastic way to give back. Stand firm in the knowledge that you are contributing to the betterment of women as a whole within today’s world.
4. Treat yourself
This one might seem silly at first, but everyone deserves to be pampered and rewarded every once in a while. It is also common for women to place themselves on the bottom of their own priority lists, but this is so unhealthy. You are just as important as the other people in your life. You cannot be your best self for others if you are not taking the time you need to rest. Furthermore, go and treat yourself to a nice meal or relaxation time this month, you deserve it!
Why celebrate Women’s History Month?
Hopefully, from all of these ideas, you now see how important it is to celebrate Women’s History Month. To celebrate this month is to honor all of the remarkable women who have come before us. So, take some time this month to learn something new about women’s history, make a brave decision, help women in need, and set aside a little time to treat yourself.
