What motivated and inspired you to start your own business?
I was motivated to begin my own business after spending more tha 17 years as a psychologist in the private and educational sector. I was left feeling unfulfilled. My cup was empty after giving so much to so many. There was nothing left for me. I eventually lost sight of who I was. I all but forgot my dreams and entrepreneurial aspirations.
I am also motivated to live a fulfilling life on my own terms without another entity telling me when to eat, when to vacation, and determining my financial worth.
I was inspired to start my own business by my 12 year old daughter. I wanted to show her that anything is possible when you are willing to work hard and are determined.

Where is your business based?
My business is based in Los Angeles, California. However, information from the academy and other programs is accessible worldwide via the internet.
What were the first few steps you took to get your business up and running?
The first steps I took were getting a business coach and an accountability partner. I will have both for the rest of my life, because they assist enormously in bridging the gap between idea and execution.
Then I eventually established a website. My most recent step has been the creation of my podcast Let’s Get Clear! With Kathy Pierson Clarifying Conversations for Your Life & Business.
What has been the most effective way of raising awareness of your business and getting new customers?
Networking and utilizing social media platforms.
What have been your biggest challenges so far?
My biggest challenge has been consistently marketing my business. I am only one person, and finding the time to market consistently can be a challenge.
How did you overcome these challenges?
These challenges are honestly still a work in progress. I maintain a posting schedule, go live on Facebook multiple times a week, post mindset moment videos on Instagram, and try to attend organizations and conferences in my field to keep my business in the forefront of the public.
How do you keep motivated through difficult times?
I keep motivated by remembering why I do this work and the broad impact it will have on another person. Individuals such as Tony Robbins, Zig Ziglar, Les Brown, and Oprah have impacted me. And I know I have the potential to impact others as well.
I don’t want to act based on feelings or emotions. I strive to bring awareness behind my emotions and feelings through remembering the goal of my work.
How do you distinguish yourself from your competitors?
I distinguish myself by my unapologetic honesty and determination to always remain true to who I am.
