5 Cool Instagram Bio Hacks That You Should Know ladybossblogger.com

One of the first things that your followers see when they visit your profile is your bio so it is important to get it right. In this post, we will give you 5 Instagram bio hacks that will improve your profile to impress your followers.

1. Line Breaks

This Instagram bio hack is sure to make your bio look clean and easy to read.

If you have ever visited the LadyBossBlogger’s Instagram account you will notice that our bio contains line breaks, which makes it an easier read when potential customers visit our profile.

Other accounts try to separate information in their bios with vertical line separators, but this can make bios look compact.

If you want to know how we formatted the line breaks, I’ll show you!

First off, you need to know that pressing “return” on the keyboard in the Instagram app will not format the line breaks.

What you need to do is go to any note app on your phone and write your bio with line breaks by pressing “enter.” Then, copy and paste the text into your Instagram bio.

Voila! You’ve done it. Simple as that.

However, according to Mehvish of Guiding Tech, you must note that “while the Instagram app supports line breaks, the Instagram website will not display line breaks. The bio will appear in its original format without line breaks.”

2. Icons

Fashion bloggers and MUA alike are finding cute, tiny little icons to put in their bios, but you can’t find them on your emoji keyboard.

Turns out, they are original characters from Microsoft Word. So, if you feel like you need a star or lightning bolt in your bio, here’s how to do it:

  1. Go to Microsoft Word and open a new document.
  2. Copy and paste your current bio into the blank document.
  3. Add some space in your bio for where you want the symbols to go.
  4. Go to “Insert”, and “Advanced Symbol.” There are lots of icons to choose from so don’t pick too many!
  5. Once you have chosen them, double click on the icons to be inserted.
  6. Finally, go back to edit your Instagram profile and copy and paste your icon-filled bio. Then, save! You’re done!

3. Fonts

Just like with the icons, a lot of bloggers, influencers, and businesses have cool fonts in their bios as well.

These other accounts don’t use Microsoft for these fonts, however. There are special applications for that. One application recommended by Sprout Social is LingoJam.

To use this platform, simply type in the words you’d like to convert to special fonts, and then copy and paste the generated text into your profile. Remember to not stand out too much!

4. Links

If you are a business or have a website to promote, this Instagram bio hack is necessary.

To add a link to your profile, simply tap the “Edit Profile” button on your personal page. Simply add your desired link into the “Website” category.

If you want to add links for calling, emailing, and directions, you must upgrade to a business account.

5. Search Results

According to Shannon Tien of Hootsuite, “the name field in your bio is searchable.”

This means that if you include keywords related to your brand into your bio, you will be more likely to come up in the search results for someone “looking for businesses in your industry.”

The first step towards completion is to identify those keywords for your brand and your industry, then go to edit your profile.

In the Name section of your bio, edit the text to include your keywords. Then, press Done!

We all want a good-looking bio, but going overboard with formatting can ruin it.

You don’t want to scare away your audience with your bio, be authentic and practical. Have fun and good luck editing!
