I had been dying to try the ProCabello Infrared Straightening Brush since I had seen it online. I wanted to cut down on the time it took to straighten my hair whenever I needed to go out of the house for meetings or events. As a solopreneur, time equals money and the less time I have to spend on my hair, the more time I can spend on my business. I figured since I have to brush my hair before I normally straighten it anyway, perhaps this tool could help me save time on that since it is shaped like a ‘brush’. I was also excited to try it because they were advertising how it increased natural hair shine and sealed the hair cuticle to reduce frizz.
- Newest in technology for hair straightening.
- Easier to use than an original straightening iron and takes a fraction of the time.
- Brushes heat up to 450F/230C while emitting negative ions in order to straighten hair in 8-10 seconds.
- Triple action system: detangle, straighten and increase natural hair shine.
- Seals the hair cuticle reducing dizziness and increasing hair manageability.
The Packaging
It was beautifully packaged, however the first thing I noticed when I took it out of the box was the charger. It came with a European charger instead of an American one. Luckily I had a converter in the house, otherwise I wouldn’t have even been able to use it! Then I turned on both straighteners to the around the same heat, I say ‘around’ because the flat iron’s heat is listed in Fahrenheit and the brush straightener is in Celsius. I allocated 15 minutes to straighten either side of my head to see which produced the best results.
The Process
I normally brush my hair before straightening then glide my brush in front of the flat iron so that it detangles as I pull down. I have found that this works best for me since it reduces the time I have to go back and re-straighten and kills two birds with one ‘stroke’. I also like to go over my roots several times since my hair is naturally curly and so it doesn’t bounce back. However, I found it hard to get close to my roots using the ProCabello Infrared Straightening Brush.
There is only one heated side to the brush versus two plates on the flat iron, which not only slows down the process of straightening, but it was also hard to control my hair when I was brushing because there was nothing to hold it against. I found the best way was to brush outwards, meaning instead of how you would normally brush your hair with the bristles facing your scalp, you need to hold your hair down and comb outwards. However, It was extremely hard to straighten the ends of my hair.
The Results
The brush straightened side was still curly, came out extremely frizzy and did not make my hair shine at all. In fact it looked worse, super dry and unhealthy. It was hard to get to both the roots and the tips of my hair. Perhaps it could be good for a touch up a day after you straighten your hair, but I would say just stick to your regular straightener, it will do a better job and do it faster too.
Normally I am pretty balanced in my reviews and give pointers for both sides before deciding on the winner, but maybe it was because of my high expectations of the ProCabello Infrared Straightening Brush and how disappointed I was when nothing that they advertised worked on me, that it turned out to be such a one-sided review. So anyway, I am definitely sticking to my Infiniti Pro Conair Tourmaline Ceramic Flat Iron which I have been using for years now that hasn’t given me any problems.
Leave a comment about your experience if you have tried either one of these products! Would love to hear if you had a different experience.

I just recently purchased a straightening brush by Profashion, and I absolutely love it! My hair is not as board straight as with a traditional straightener, but it gets the job done very quickly, adds shine to my hair, and holds all day long. I have very wavy hair in the back, and I always felt like I couldn’t quite get to it very well with the straightener. The brush is just so much easier to use. Check it out!

Really interesting review! I’ve always seen these brushes and wondered if they really are just as good. My hair is relatively straight anyways so it might work better on my hair. Really good to see a blogger giving an honest review! 🙂 x Amanda Alston – blog
