Colleen Gallagher’s vision is to inspire ambitious people to start acting on making their heart’s truth their reality, so each individual can embody the light they hold within to infuse the world with more love and positivity.
After being diagnosed with cancer at age 14, Colleen struggled through the next decade. Living with anger and stress, overly focused on others’ expectations of her, she created a life filled with subconscious anger and guilt as well as a persistent sense of her own unworthiness. It trapped her.
At 23 she’d had enough. She quit her job, moved across the world to New Zealand, and healed herself with love. Her truth means living a life on her own terms with complete freedom, making the world work for her, and creating a five-step process to free others to do the same.
She seeks to be part of the momentum that moves the world forward and you to do so as well.
What motivated and inspired you to start your own business?
I was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 14, which led to a lot of subconscious anger and unworthiness and believing that I had to work really hard to have lots of money in order to make sure I always had money to pay for my cancer treatments. I worked in corporate America and tried to buy happiness, never believing that happiness could really come from within.
Finally, one day, I couldn’t take the feelings of depression and anxiety anymore, so I quit my job to fulfill my dream of living abroad. From that point on I knew I was going to open a business to create ways for more love and positivity in the world, because I never wanted anyone to suffer from everything I put myself through.
So I created Colleen Gallagher International, because I truly believe that the world needs more love and positivity, but I believe it starts with each individual’s mindset.

Where is your business based?
Based in the USA, but really it’s an online global business that impacts thousands of people globally every month.
What were the first few steps you took to get your business up and running?
We hired a business coach, got a logo, built a website, and started providing solutions to problems clients were having.
What has been the most effective way of raising awareness of your business and getting new customers?
- Talking about it when I am traveling.
What have been your biggest challenges so far?
Three challenges stick out: releasing control to the outcomes of things, realizing none of this is about me, and being so focused on money goals instead of service impact goals.
How did you overcome these challenges?
I hired a mentor, committed to doing internal work to look within and redesign and create who I want to be, created a practice of trust that knowing this is all bigger than me and believing in it, and always acting in alignment with trust and with the vision I have committed to.
How do you keep motivated through difficult times?
I don’t feel motivation is something really that is needed when you are living with purpose and vision.
You don’t know how to not show up and in the difficult times you know that things need to be shared with your tribe so they can see you’re human and shift their internal work through you sharing your journey.
How do you distinguish yourself from your competitors?
I am me—I share my story, so I don’t believe we have competitors when it comes to personal brands. That is why they are so powerful.
I believe every time in businesses you should create a story around the business to make the business like a personality—where you nurture the business and you connect it through stories to people, because this makes the business become relatable and something that people can connect to.
As a person, you share your story. You remove all competition, because there is no one else that is you.
What is the best advice you have received recently?
- Don’t worry, be happy.
- The more you have fun, the more money you make.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
A mentor once told me that any business you have is 80% internal work and 20% strategy… It doesn’t matter what business if you are not fully connected with yourself, your purpose, and your vision, then you and your business will cap out, burn out, or explode at some point.
So my advice is invest in yourself, invest in your business, and start becoming a CEO instead of an entrepreneur so you start shifting in how you can serve other people to co-create the business’ vision.
What are your favorite business tools/resources and why?
Employees—because they can co-create towards the vision; they are the greatest asset with bringing new ideas and expanding the light the business carries.
What is a good article or book you have read recently?
The 4-Hour Work Week gives you so much leverage in your business.
What are you currently learning about for your business or looking for help with?
Learning just to grow the impact—so how I can look deeper within myself to heal things and do the internal work to then shift the business at greater levels.
What are your goals for the next few months and how are you striving to achieve them?
- Grow employees to 6, making the first one location-free or independent.
- Next book will be coming out.
- Growing to impact hundreds of thousands of people.
- Speaking on stages.
- Creating new programs to help people live with internal freedom, infinite love, and positivity.
