What motivated and inspired you to start your own business?
I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit. I remember in my twenties, my grandmother told me that I was different. Where most 5 & 6 year old girls were playing with Barbie dolls and tea sets, I requested paper, pens, teddy bears, and briefcases to set up my “school” to be the teacher. She told me that she knew then that I had a go-getter, be my own boss, kind of mindset. I started my first business immediately after high school, forming a gift basket and event planning business. After experiencing life lessons regarding business, I decided in 2006 to go back to college to pursue my Bachelor of Science in Business Management, so that I could learn how business should really be done. After completing my master’s degree in Human Resource Management, I knew that I wanted to get into business by helping others via coaching, mentoring and teaching.
