How To Travel The World Affordably As An Influencer
Traveling the world for a living sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it? As a travel influencer, it’s not impossible! The question is, how do you monetize your influence and fund the costly expenses that come with traveling?
I’ll show you how to travel the world affordably as an influencer!
1. Start saving up
The ultimate goal is to have your travel expenses paid for, but that isn’t to say there won’t be bumps along the way. You’ll most likely need to fund these expensive yourself at first.
2. Know your niche
As a travel influencer, you should pick what kind of travel niche you want to focus on. By picking a niche, you’re deciding to be a professional in a certain area of traveling.
Additionally, people are more likely to trust someone who commits to a specific niche. As a travel influencer, you’ll be viewed as a master of your niche by being the best at it!
You don’t always have to restrict yourself to this particular category, but those who center on one travel theme tend to get a lot more attention than the average travel influencer.
3. Grow your following
This may seem like a no-brainer, but building your audience is a vital step in being able to travel affordably as an influencer. However, you don’t necessarily need to have millions or even thousands of followers to do so.
An engaged and loyal audience who cares about what you have to say is more better than having a bunch of followers who wouldn’t even notice if you stopped posting content.
It’s important to work across multiple social media, Instagram being the most popular for travel influencers. Use these platforms to network – connect with other influencers, make friends, and grow your audience!
4. Market yourself
You’ve been saving up, chose a niche, and built yourself a following. It’s time to market yourself to brands and businesses! But how do you do that? Most businesses won’t reach out to you first, which means you’ll need to seek them out yourself. You should:
- Join affiliate marketing programs
- Find brands that align with your values
- Pitch yourself via email, DM, or even a phone call
- Be prepared for rejections, but expect the best!
5. Have a blast!
Becoming a travel influencer isn’t going to happen overnight, and money may not flow in quickly at first. Have patience as you may not have a steady income for anywhere from a few months to a few years.
Stay committed to your following, be passionate about what you do, and strategically market yourself. Once you start pulling offers, traveling as an influencer won’t be so far-fetched after all!
Good luck, and enjoy yourself!
