What motivated and inspired you to start your own business?
When I had my very first roommate, I noticed she was getting a lot of credit card statements in the mail. We were chatting about it, and she mentioned she was only paying the minimum payment on her credit cards (which meant she was paying so much in interest).
I immediately wanted to help her understand how to make wiser decisions with her money, and that’s when I realized a lot of people didn’t know about money management.
A few years later I had a conversation with one of my co-workers in her 70’s. While discussing careers, she told me she was recently divorced, and her ex-husband had all of the retirement accounts and bank accounts in his name. She had no money to live and thus had to work.
I thought that was hard enough, but a year later the company let her go as she just wasn’t able to keep up. I thought to myself, “I don’t want that to happen to me or any other woman.”
I felt the need to help women understand the importance of managing their money effectively and making their money work for them, so they won’t have to rely on working or on someone else for money.
I also had a great boss with multiple successful companies and dated a guy that was making more money from his blog than his 9-5 could offer him. Seeing other successful business owners doing what they loved and making a living from it gave me that extra motivation I needed to start my own business, so here I am!
Tell us about your business.
I love empowering women to take control of their money and start making it work for them through my one-on-one option and online courses to help them achieve financial freedom.
A large portion of my business is focused on money, because it gives us more options and peace of mind, but it’s also focused on living a more fulfilled and joyful life, because money will never make us happy.

Where is your business based?
Salt Lake City, UT and online at www.WealthyTiffany.com.
What were the first few steps you took to get your business up and running?
- Signed up for a business coaching program (namely, Melissa Pharr’s business group coaching program—she’s amazing).
- Set up my website and social media profiles.
- Started blogging to get awareness and traffic.
What has been the most effective way of raising awareness of your business and getting new customers?
Doing free online and in-person workshops. Giving people a taste of what I’m like really helps them decide if I’m someone they’d want to work with or not.
What have been your biggest challenges so far?
Staying focused on one thing is one of my biggest challenges. I’ve created numerous courses and gone in lots of different directions. If I stayed focused on one thing long enough, I could grow it even further and have a greater impact.
I hear that’s part of being an entrepreneur. We all have so many ideas it’s hard to pick just one.
Another challenge is having confidence in my own work. When I’m creating something of my own, it’s hard to know if others will love it as much as I do, and I start to second guess myself.
How did you overcome these challenges?
I’m still working on overcoming these challenges, but here’s what has helped so far.
- Getting one idea through to completion before I start something else.
- Reminding myself if it worked for me, it can work for someone else.
- Asking and listening for guidance. We are all so unique that not everything will work for everyone.
Overcoming challenges has been a lot easier when I’m open to receiving guidance, being humble and teachable, and then taking inspired action.
How do you keep motivated through difficult times?
I keep motivated through difficult times by interacting with those that are in similar situations, so we can relate to each other and lift each other up.
I also listen to motivational songs, read my scriptures, do some soul searching, and remember why I’m doing what I’m doing.
How do you distinguish yourself from your competitors?
I give women the “how” part to building wealth so they can become financially free.
A lot of others talk about getting the right money mindset (which is important), but once you’re there, you need the actual money management and investment strategies so you can start making your money work for you.
Most women don’t want to continuously trade time for money, so I teach them how to invest their money so it will work for them instead of them always working for their money.
What is the best advice you have received recently?
I was reading a talk that said, “Make everything around you beautiful.” I thought that was perfect, because wherever we go or whatever we do, we can make the world a better, more beautiful place.
It may not even be creating something tangible like a beautiful painting or having a talent like playing beautiful music, but create something beautiful in your eyes that helps someone else. Things like helping someone take care of their money, make their brand better, or increase their self-worth.
We can all create something beautiful in this world.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
You got this! If you want something, keep going after it until you get it! We all get discouraged at some point, but if it’s what you really want, it’ll totally be worth it. Remember, you aren’t alone, and the world needs your message. So share it!
Be consistent and be passionate about your business. By showing up consistently, you’re building trust with your following, which is exactly what they need, and you need, to turn them into clients. People will see your passion and get excited about your business with you.
What are your favorite business tools/resources and why?
I love Convertkit. It’s an email service provider that makes it easy to set up multiple campaigns, add tags to your customers, and keep everything organized.
What is a good article or book you have read recently?
The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich by Tim Ferriss is phenomenal. I read it recently and wished I would have read it while working my 9-5.
He talks about not only building up your business but how to make working for someone else even better. I’d highly recommend it for anyone with their own business or who’s working for someone else.
What are you currently learning about for your business or looking for help with?
I’m currently learning about how to lower my taxes during my financial freedom years so I can share it in one of my courses. Everyone wants to pay as little in taxes as possible, right?!
What are your goals for the next few months and how are you striving to achieve them?
One of my goals is to create a Fast Track Financial Freedom Virtual Workshop, and I’m setting aside time each day to work on it.
