Krystal DesChamps has always been passionate about working with and helping people. Now she gets to do that on a more personal level without all the limitations that come with working for someone else. She credits her faith in God and belief that He has a great purpose for all of us as the reason she was able to start her own life coaching practice. Divine Destiny was started by Krystal and it is her mission to help as many women as she can to see what God can do through them. Read our interview with the lovely Krystal below…
What motivated and inspired you to start your own business?
My son and I did prayer request lists which we were praying over on a daily basis and on mine, I was asking God to lead me to my purpose and open a door for me to walk in. You really must be careful what you ask God for because He started leading me to different people as well as leading people to me. I had never even thought about having my own business, but God was giving me signs left and right that I needed to and then I got bit by the bug and couldn’t wait to start my business.
Tell us about your business.
My business is called Divine Destiny and I offer one-on-one life coaching for overwhelmed women ready to step into their purpose. I help women to transform their mindset so they can transform their life. If a woman is ready to make any type of big change in her life: career, relationships or personal development I can definitely help make that process easier. I aim to help women live their best life as well as help them see all that God can do through them. Right now, I offer my services via online video chat and telephone. I aim to eventually be able to provide face to face services for those that prefer it.
Are you currently running any promos/contests/giveaways that you would like our readers to know about?
Of course, I’m offering a free 30-minute discovery call with me. I am also offering a free email course called “Change Your Mind, Change Your Life.” This course is designed to help people get rid of the thoughts that are holding them back from living the life they were created to live. Readers can access the course here. It will continue to be free because that’s how strongly I believe in it!
List awards/certifications/accomplishments.
I am a certified life coach as well as a mental health nurse with over a decade of experience in this field. I’m also a United States Air Force veteran but my biggest accomplishment of all is being a mom to my amazing 8 year old son Timothy.
Where is your business based?
It is based out of Cleveland, TN but like I mentioned earlier I work with people online and via telephone.
What were the first few steps you took to get your business up and running?
Prayer was a huge factor that got me to where I am. As I was praying, God was opening doors and showing me signs. First, I got a financial coach as well as business coaches to help me with the foundation of my business. The financial coach was to help me with my mindset towards money because I’ve never been into sales and didn’t like that aspect of business, plus I never understood the importance of truly investing in yourself. As someone who has worked with several coaches, I can attest to the value of coaching. My life has changed tremendously because of it and it is my goal to help other women transform their lives through the process of it.
What has been the most effective way of raising awareness of your business and getting new customers?
I would have to say networking. Social media has allowed me to connect with other women entrepreneurs and it has been amazing the support and sense of community built up during this process. I also started a newsletter called Mindshift Moments, which is a way for people to get to know me and for me to be able to help them on a smaller scale. Plus, I have a Facebook group which is always open to those who want to join a community of women (as well as a few men) looking for motivation and accountability.
What have been your biggest challenges so far?
I think the biggest challenge of them all is just monitoring my own thoughts and not allowing any kind of negativity to throw me off. I’m an open book and love sharing what’s going on with me with those in my life, but sometimes people aren’t always the most encouraging because they are dealing with their own limiting beliefs and so they project those feelings onto you, but I’m so glad that God made me as optimistic as I am. People think I’m crazy sometimes when they hear the things I’m doing or plan to do.
How did you overcome these challenges?
My faith in God has helped me overcome anything I have ever faced. I could really go on all day and amaze people with the things God has done in my life. Therefore, I always reflect on the things God has done for me and that gives me the motivation to keep moving forward. I share a birthday with Martin Luther King Jr. and growing up I would always tell people I know God has great plans for me because I share a birthday with the King… talk about motivation for ya!
How do you keep motivated through difficult times?
I stop and I think about the people who have had a major influence on my life and how because of those people my life has completely changed. Therefore, I know that God has people out there that are waiting on me to help them change their lives so it would be selfish of me to give up or say I can’t do this. I want to empower as many women as I can to change the world and I want to be obedient to what God has for me to do.
How do you distinguish yourself from your competitors?
Honestly like I said, I feel God has certain people that are meant to work with me. There’s over 7 billion people in this world so there’s really no reason for competition. I feel there’s enough to go around for everyone who wants to make a difference in the world. Especially as women, we are a force to be reckoned with when we come together for a purpose.
What is the best advice you have received recently?
Stop comparing yourself to others. On social media, it’s easy to look at all the great things people are doing on there and think, “oh wow how did they do that and how do I get my following to be that big”. But honestly things are not always what they seem and even if it is, I truly feel as long as I’m living in my purpose, things will happen the way God wants them to. He knows what I’m ready for.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
Just be you! A lot of times people will say there’s no room for me in this market because so many people are doing what I want to do and the market is oversaturated, but that’s so not true. No one can do what you do and affect people the way you will affect them. We all bring something special to the table and there’s plenty of room for everyone.
What is your favorite business tool or resource?
Hands down the Universal Coaching Systems Life Coach Office. It is so amazing the things I can do on there to provide my clients the best, personalized one-on-one service ever. I love being able to cater to my clients needs as well as their wants. There’s many tools and resources that I love, but my Life Coach Office is one I could not do without.

What is a good article or book you have read recently?
“Book Yourself Solid” by Michael Port. I would have to say to any entrepreneur if you could only read one book this should be the one. So many great nuggets that could be applied to any business. I believe like how he states in his book, that there are people out there that are meant to work with me and I was made to work with them. This goes back to why I chose the name Divine Destiny because I don’t believe in things just happening by chance but divine intervention. God leads people to me so that I can help lead them to their destiny.
What are you currently learning about for your business or looking for help with?
I’m already thinking ahead to being able to provide products outside my one-on-one service. I want to be able to reach a bigger audience and make it easier for those that may not have the time to commit to the structure of one on one coaching. Also, I’m back in school working towards my Masters degree in counseling because I want to be able to provide dual services to women.
What are your goals for the next few months and how are you striving to achieve them?
My goal is to be fully booked and helping as many women as I can, not only professionally but in my personal life as well. I’ve been talking with friends and people I care about trying to motivate them to live their best life and step into their purpose. I know that first step can be very intimidating, but I’m here to let women know that oftentimes God is just waiting on us to take that step of faith, so He can show us all that He has been wanting to do through us.
