What motivated and inspired you to start your own business?
I’ve always had an entrepreneurial mindset. After completing my master’s degree in counseling psychology, I knew I would go into private practice. Then after being in the mental health field a while, I was drawn to help others in a different way via coaching and teaching. It became evident to me that I wanted to inspire people to live better lives and that many people would not come to therapy because they weren’t “bad off enough” yet still needed help to grow into who they wanted to become. This led me to coaching.
Tell us about your business.
I’m an intuitive mindset coach and seeker’s guide for high-achievers. I guide individuals back to their truth and this is part of being the Seeker’s Guide. Most people are “seeking” something and have an inner knowing that they are meant for more and desire more from life. I help people to discover this for themselves and guide them to their higher purpose. Essentially I help high-achieving corporate executives and entrepreneurs overcome imposter syndrome, self-sabotage, self-doubt, self-worth and self-trust issues which keeps them blocked from living in authenticity. Once we do the inner work, my clients achieve amazing results which allow them the freedom to reach their dreams. Part of my work is spiritual and highly intuitive and I love to merge the spiritual with the practical to create magical results. So often people get in their own way without realizing it and so they overthink, overanalyze, and get stuck. My mindset coaching practice is about helping clients live in alignment with their highest truth, find validation within themselves and to release the ego so they can live the life they’ve always dreamed of.

Where is your business based?
My clients are all over the world. We’re physically north of Atlanta in Alpharetta, Georgia in the Southeastern United States. However, I serve clients all over the world and my business is not limited by my location. I typically see counseling/therapy clients in office and coaching clients online or over the phone.
What were the first few steps you took to get your business up and running?
First step is talk to people. Then it was really about getting the basics: website, email list, strategy and visibility. People need to know who you are and what you do so you can serve them – so it’s important to share, share, and share some more. It’s also important to know who you’re serving so you can speak to them and their needs.
What has been the most effective way of raising awareness of your business and getting new customers?
The most effective way of raising awareness of my business and getting new clients has been to attend networking events, write and promote articles, share tips/strategies, and to host online or in-person workshop type events. This builds the “know, like, and trust” factors and helps people get to know me, what I do, and how I can help them. Building relationships is crucial in building any business and I’ve found this to be especially true in building an online business because people need to know that you will provide what they need to succeed, call them out on their excuses and hold them accountable.
What have been your biggest challenges so far?
One of my biggest challenges so far has been being vulnerable and sharing my personal story. The funny part about this is that I’m an extrovert. However, I think my struggle with this has been mostly because I come from the psychotherapy world where you don’t share your story. Overcoming that and being vulnerable has been a big challenge. In coaching, people want to know that you’ve been through similar things and that you can guide them through things based on your experience. They don’t care as much that you have degrees hanging on the wall, and they care more about the relatability and that you’ve walked your talk. I’ve definitely been through a lot and sharing it so that it helps my clients is something I’ve been consistently working on so they know that I know what they are going through.
How did you overcome these challenges?
I overcame these challenges by sharing my story– albeit awkwardly. I didn’t know how to share my story of overcoming obstacles so that it could be beneficial to others. So, instead of overanalyzing, I just started talking about struggles I had experienced. I learned how to share so that it would help and inspire others. It has definitely taken some getting used to and has gotten easier with time.
How do you keep motivated through difficult times?
There is an inner knowing that I am on the right path and that everything works out in divine timing. I have an absolute conviction that I’m meant to do this work. Also, I believe my connection to source and reminding myself that I’m divinely supported and that the lessons learned along the way are for my highest and best. I have a strong faith, and belief that my soul’s purpose is to help people improve their lives, help people overcome obstacles; grow into who they are meant to be all while enjoying the journey. That keeps me grounded, aligned, and moving forward.
How did you distinguish yourself from your competitors?
Me being me. I’m quirky. Ultimately, I am ME and that makes me different. I know that people will connect with me because they relate to me and my message. As a light worker, I believe that there are certain people that we are attracted to working with because they are meant to teach us something or help us learn a lesson. This is how I’ve found my mentors and how others find me.
Also, I have no problems calling people out on their excuses. I love holding my clients accountable and I think knowing how to do that with ease and grace sets me apart. My clients have told me that I’ve called them out and held them accountable above and beyond their expectations.
Another thing that sets me apart is having the professional psychological background. Beyond the degrees, I have years of training and experience which allows me to go very deep with my clients and I have a knack for seeing people’s blind spots very quickly. I’m also highly intuitive which is also a bit different.
What is the best advice you have received recently?
The best advice I’ve received recently is to slow down, have fun and bring joy into all that you do. Typically when people try to force things, nothing happens. So, lighten up and have fun. I’ve found this to be very true.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
- Know yourself really well
- Be patient with yourself
The first one is important because if you don’t know yourself well, you will. Personal growth always comes first because if there are any doubts about what you do, these will come up and you will be challenged by what’s in your head. Also, your personal growth will trump your business growth. In other words, in order for your business to grow, you’ve got to grow first. You are your business and comparing yourself to others will stunt your growth. Be you. Love you. Grow you. The rest happens naturally.
Secondly, no one starts a business and goes to 6 figures in 90 days unless they’ve been running other businesses previously and already have a roadmap. There are kinks, problems, obstacles, etc. Unless you’ve been a professional business builder, you will run into problems, and it’s important that you are realistic about the time it takes to grow and run a successful business. Enjoy the process, have fun, learn as much as you can and be patient. It will all come.
What is your favorite business tool or resource?
My favorite business tools are in-person networking and social media. I’ve found that referrals are a great way to build business and social media is a great way to connect with potential clients, and share free resources that other people need to help them grow.

What is a good article or book you have read recently?
The best book that I’ve read recently is Gabrielle Bernstein’s “The Universe Has Your Back” and I love it because it’s about opening up and trusting your path and your process. It’s an amazing book so that you can lean in while knowing that you are universally supported.
What are you currently learning about for your business or looking for help with?
I’m currently working with someone to help me build funnels. What a learning curve. I’m excited about it, yet it’s totally different from what I’m used to. I’m great with people, connecting and doing the coaching but the business side is the side I’ve been learning about and building up strengths with.
What are your goals for the next few months and how are you striving to achieve them?
My goals are to definitely re-open some spots in my 1:1 coaching programs again in the coming months. I’ve been booked for a while and will be opening up for 5 spots at the end of December. I’ll also be launching a group coaching program. I’ll be running some challenges and free calls between now and the New Year! It will be exciting!
