As an influencer, Instagram is one of the most important and useful platforms for gaining an audience for your content. One thing that can help you increase your visibility and reach as an influencer is getting on Instagram’s Explore page, as it allows new users to view your content and ultimately leads to more followers and likes. Here are some steps you can follow to elevate your chances of getting on Instagram’s Explore page.
1. Post at the right time
One of the most important things to keep in mind when posting on Instagram is the time you decide to post. Posting when a majority of your followers are active is important, as Instagram’s algorithm takes early engagement into account when pushing content.
Right when you post your content, your picture will appear on your followers’ timeline. The more people who then like it right when you post it ups its engagement. This is important for getting your content on Instagram’s Explore page.
Luckily you can find when your followers are active easily. On your Instagram Business account, you can go to the Insights tab and go to the Audience section to see when your followers are most active by the hour and day of the week.
2. Learn from others
When trying to elevate your chances of getting on Instagram’s Explore page, it may be useful to look at posts that are currently on your Explore Page. If you interact with content within the same field of content you are also in, it can be valuable to look at your explore page as it shows what kind of posts are successful in getting on the page. If the content is in a similar industry as you, it likely would be the type of posts you and your audience would enjoy.
Take note of what type of content it is and how they presented it. If it is in a different industry than your content, it still could be valuable to look at, as it shows a post that is liked by users. Look at the caption, hashtags, filters, etc., and see how you can incorporate elements into your content.
3. Look at your past posts
Another tip that might be useful is looking at your posts to see what your audience has enjoyed in the past. Posts your audience particularly enjoys will get a higher level of engagement, which is important in getting your post to appear on Instagram’s Explore page.
You can look at your engagement easily, by going using the analytics tool on your Instagram Business Account, and going to the Post section of Insights. Here you can sort your post by the best performing analytics, such as engagement, reach, and impressions. Look through and try to see if there’s any pattern in what performs best on your profile and what type of content your audience seems to like best.
There’s also a chance your content has already been on Instagram’s Explore page. By looking under the View Insights tab and then under the Discover Tab it shows a breakdown of your Impressions. There you can see the From Explore metric. This shows you how many times your content was shown to users on the Explore page.
Through analyzing history, you can adjust your content to elevate your chances of getting on Instagram’s Explore page.
4. Make videos
Video content is widely the best performing type of content across platforms and has come to be highlighted on Instagram’s Explore page in part due to the introduction of IGTV. Videos have the potential to be ranked higher due to the autoplay feature on Instagram’s explore page, which draws users in, so making a video, reel or IGTV can be useful to elevate your chances of getting on Instagram’s Explore Page.
Here are a few ideas of videos you can make:
- Skincare routine
- Hairstyle tutorial
- Makeup look
- Outfit ideas
- DIY crafts
- Healthy recipes
- Home decor tips
- Beauty hacks and products
5. Use hashtags
When trying to elevate your chance of getting on Instagram’s Explore page, tags can be useful. Putting hashtags and location tags can help expose your post to audiences who normally see your content. Posts with at least one hashtag get on average 12.6% more engagement than posts that have no hashtags, and more engagement ups your chances of getting on the Explore page.
When using hashtags, try to keep them relevant to your post so your post avoids looking like spam. Also keeping the hashtags relevant to your post increases the of someone interacting with your post, as the people looking under a relevant hashtag are interested in content like yours.
By incorporating these steps into your posts, you can help elevate your chances of getting on Instagram’s Explore page and ultimately continue to expand your platform and reach!
