Exposing and growing your business can be especially difficult if you aren’t paying close attention to new major trends. If you don’t have a social media manager that is capable of scouring the internet to determine what the latest fads are and how you can take advantage of it, then your business is going to be at a disadvantage compared to other companies that have invested in this types of public marketing.
However, there’s no better way to grow your business than to literally shove your business in the face of your customers. While this might seem invasive, think of it this way; if those annoying television advertisements didn’t play over and over during the break of your favorite show, would you even remember them? Sure, a lot of people skip over advertisements, but the more your brand name sticks out, the more seriously people will take you.
Host a public event
A public event at a trade show or something similar is going to give you plenty of exposure. You’ll be able to meet with potential customers, interact with them face-to-face and even hand out samples, business cards and gifts to encourage your visitors to remember your brand. Getting a good spot in a public trade show is difficult, but if you manage to make it into something big for your industry, then it will no doubt help improve your sales and give you more exposure.
Make regular public appearances
If you don’t make regular appearances at public events or bother to make an appearance every now and again at popular public locations, then you’ll be one of those one-hit-wonder businesses that appear and disappear in the same week. Make sure you capitalize on your sudden boost of exposure by giving your customers something to remember you by and be relentless on your journey of growing your business.
Be all over social media
If you haven’t mastered social media yet then don’t worry—not many companies have. However, it’s still essential to practice your skills on websites like Twitter, Instagram and Facebook because your posts or pictures could reach millions of people. The more your brand name is exposed, the more likely people will remember it and there’s no better digital platform to expose yourself than social media. If you don’t already have one, consider hiring a community manager to help with your social media campaigns.
Open a physical location
If it’s foot traffic you’re after or if you want to target a niche location, then consider looking at commercial property and building up your very first physical location. This comes with a whole new set of challenges, but it’s one of the best ways to increase local exposure for your business. It will take some time setting up a store and getting all of the right licenses and permissions, but it’s without a doubt a solid way to get in front of your customers.
Partner with other businesses
Lastly, make sure you try and partner with other businesses at any opportunity. For example, if you supply computer components, then try to partner with companies or businesses that use your components. This way you can attract similar customers to those that the other business uses, and you can essentially help each other grow your companies.
