What motivated and inspired you to start your own business?

Where is your business based?
Near Boston, MA.
What were the first few steps you took to get your business up and running?
I started by creating a vision board. I started putting together colors, fonts, and copy to see what my vision look like on paper, instead of just in my brain.
Everything flowed so naturally from there, I built my website and social media pages and found my content really resonated with women.
What has been the most effective way of raising awareness of your business and getting new customers?
Definitely through social media.
What have been your biggest challenges so far?
It can be difficult to stay motivated. When starting/running your own business you go through a lot of emotions. One day you feel like the greatest success and the next like you will never succeed.
How did you overcome these challenges?
I remind myself this is normal and that everyone goes through this. There’s a natural vulnerability with creating something that you pour your heart and soul into and then put out there for the world to see.
How do you keep motivated through difficult times?
I think about all I have learned about empowerment and how to live your best life, and I imagine where I would be had I not had the experiences that led me to that growth.
I always focus on the idea that if I can help just one woman learn to embrace self-love and empowerment that I have done something amazing.
How do you distinguish yourself from your competitors?
My approach is not only personal and customized, but it’s proven. With me, you get a plan that actually worked, from the person who lived it. I’ve been through every step and know exactly what it’s like, and can provide incredible support as a result.
What is the best advice you have received recently?
Be fearless. You have to just put yourself out there and believe in what you have to share.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
It’s never going to be easy, but it will be one of the most incredible, rewarding experiences of your life.
What are your favorite business tools/resources and why?
I am a huge fan of scheduling tools, I love to have everything well-organized and in one spot.
What is a good article or book you have read recently?
Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert.
This book changed my perspective and helped give me an extra push to believe in the ideas I had and feel confident sharing them with the world.
I loved the book’s message of success not looking the same for everyone.
What are you currently learning about for your business or looking for help with?
I am learning more about coding (gulp). I sort of pushed myself into this as I wanted to be the one to build my website so I could be sure my vision was represented perfectly.
It was definitely intimidating at first, but it’s actually pretty cool to be able to customize my brand this way.
What are your goals for the next few months and how are you striving to achieve them?
In the next few months, I am focused on reaching more women to share the importance of empowerment and self-love.
I want to do everything I can to teach women to be less critical of themselves, to put themselves first and find balance in their lives.
