I started my business because I have a genuine desire to help others succeed. For many years I had friends and business associates asking me how I created a six-figure income from a small investment.

List awards/certifications/accomplishments.
As an entrepreneur, I received the New Business of the Year Award from the City of Cincinnati through my company Royal Maids Janitorial Services, LLC. I currently have 6 certifications through Royal Maids: I am a certified MBE, SBE, WBE and ELBE through the City of Cincinnati, I am EDGE certified through the State of Ohio and I have received SEM Certification as a Green and Sustainable business.
Where is your business based?
Christeria Lynn, LLC is based out of Cincinnati, Ohio but we are able to service clients throughout the US.
What were the first few steps you took to get your business up and running?
I obtained my EIN and registered with the Secretary of State. From there I began researching the consulting industry and took the time to figure out who my target audience would be and what services they needed most.
What has been the most effective way of raising awareness of your business and getting new customers?
Mostly word of mouth. I have also received positive feedback from posting ads on social media and was featured on Cincinnati Connection.
What have been your biggest challenges so far?
To date, my biggest challenge is reaching clients outside of the Greater Cincinnati area.
How did you overcome these challenges?
I am currently working with Nahamani.org a public relations agency who is helping me to promote my brand and gain more exposure. I am also working to grow my social media network. Working with Nahamani.org has been great because they specialize in both public relations and internet marketing so they are able to help me in both areas.
How do you keep motivated through difficult times?
I am a spiritual person so I rely on my faith in God to get me through the tough times. I also listen to a lot of motivational speeches online and surround myself with positive people.
How do you distinguish yourself from your competitors?
The biggest difference with Christeria Lynn, LLC is that I do not just tell customers what to do I actually walk them through the steps of starting their business. Here in Cincinnati there are lots of startup initiatives that teach you how to write a business plan, but I take the time to write it for my clients, with the exception of their financials. The level of hands on experience I bring to the table also helps to distinguish me from my competitors.
What is the best advice you have received recently?
The best advice I have received is to “Stay in my lane”. I am not trying to be everything to everybody. I understand what areas I am gifted and use those talents to help others be successful.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
Know what you want and go after it. Do you research and definitely, stay in your lane!
What are your favorite business tools/resources and why?
I love Google! There is so much information out there. Google does a great job of helping you find the information that is relevant and timely.
What is a good article or book you have read recently?
“The Grit” by Angela Lee Duckworth.
What are you currently learning about for your business or looking for help with?
I am currently looking to expand my consulting team to be able to offer more services to business clients.
What are your goals for the next few months and how are you striving to achieve them?
I am currently working on my book. The book will tell how I survived a violent marriage, started my first business with less than $200 to my name and most recently grew my janitorial business from a $2000 investment to a six-figure enterprise all while raising six children.
