What motivated and inspired you to start your own business?
I wanted time to spend with my family, to travel, and start my own high school for adult learners.

My business is a self-image and personal development – helping women get clear and get focus.

I’m currently working on a free Dream Digital Workbook.

Where is your business based?
Online and based in the Midwest, Chicago.
What were the first few steps you took to get your business up and running?
I started researching how to start a not-for-profit and took some workshops to help me build my brand.
What has been the most effective way of raising awareness of your business and getting new customers?
Getting volunteers, raising (brand awareness), and creating events that will would empower and motivate single mothers.
What have been your biggest challenges so far?
Being able to get grants and build a team.
How did you overcome these challenges?
I partnered with other organizations and did more advertising online.
How do you keep motivated through difficult times?
I kept my faith and I never lost sight of my purpose and reason of why I started Changing Oasis, Inc.
How do you distinguish yourself from your competitors?
Well most competitors don’t have a teaching background with a certification or experience with building programs.
What is the best advice you have received recently?
Every footprint you take is a step towards your success, not matter how small of a step you think was, it is a step into helping someone with their future.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
Be passionate about what you’re doing and make sure you’re doing it for the right reasons, because it can be tasking and costly, especially if you’re paying out of your pocket.
What is your favorite business tool or resource?
My online management system Trello and the email marketing program with Mailchimp. Also Blogtalk Radio Shows and live stream videos.
