Andrea Levoff is a coach, speaker and the creator of the web series Dope Ass Mom Tips. She uses her background in comedy and psychology to help women step into their full potential.
What motivated and inspired you to start your own business?
I wanted to help other mom’s after I overcame my own struggles with being fulfilled. When I became a mom and decided to stop working in the corporate world, I started to feel like I had lost some of my identity. I went back to school to get my master’s in psychology and started doing things for myself that I loved. Through my journey, I found that I could help other people do the same thing.
Tell us about your business.
I’m a private coach and a speaker. I’m working on a second round of videos for my series.
Are you currently running any promos/contests/giveaways that you would like our readers to know about?
Yes! Readers of LadyBossBlogger can get a free discovery call with me if they quote Lady Boss when they contact me.
List awards/certifications/accomplishments.
I have a Master’s in Spiritual Psychology.
Where is your business based?
Chicago, Illinois.
What were the first few steps you took to get your business up and running?
I simply started! I set up a website, did some brainstorming of my services and asked for lots of help!
What has been the most effective way of raising awareness of your business and getting new customers?
Collaborating with other like-minded brands. Finding win-win opportunities is one of the best ways to promote yourself in a honest and meaningful way!
What have been your biggest challenges so far?
Staying motivated and figuring out next steps.
How did you overcome these challenges?
I think the best advice I ever got was make a plan and work the plan! Every day I figure out what needs to happen and do it. I also schedule in down time so I can recharge my batteries.
How do you keep motivated through difficult times?
I connect back to my purpose and my ‘why’. If I can remember why I started and who I’m serving, it keeps me going on days when I don’t feel motivated on my own.
How do you distinguish yourself from your competitors?
To be honest, I don’t really think of anyone as a competitor. I know everyone is unique and has their own way of showing up in the world. Certain people are drawn to others for a reason. There is enough success to go around!
What is the best advice you have received recently?
The concept of 3 foot tosses. Take a bigger task that might seem overwhelming and break it down into smaller, more digestible action steps.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
Have a very clear sense of who you are serving and WHY you do what you do. This will help keep you going on days when it’s hard and you are having setbacks.
What is your favorite business tool or resource?
Instagram! I love the community, tools and resources that everyone offers.
What is a good article or book you have read recently?
The Untethered Soul by Michael A. Singer.
What are you currently learning about for your business or looking for help with?
I’m always trying to learn about the newest technology and ways to connect with potential clients and opportunities for collaborations.
What are your goals for the next few months and how are you striving to achieve them?
I’m working on a new round of videos and planning a “Dope Ass Mom Summit” in Houston for August. In January 2017, I will be hosting my first retreat. Each day I chip away a little bit at each of these projects. I have action steps written down for every thing I need to do to achieve these goals, from the tiniest thing to the largest task.
