Adriana Aronet was born and raised in Romania, the beautiful country of Dracula. She quit her job as a mechanical engineer and started learning and working on her LA ARONET dream. She had always been told by people around her that she has an eye for beauty, especially interior design and fashion.
What motivated and inspired you to start your own business?
I think I always wanted to be an entrepreneur, but I wasn’t completely aware of it. Everyone around me had a “real” job and I felt that was what I had to do too, it was automatically printed in my mind. After a few years at my “real” job as a Mechanical Engineer, which I really liked, it become clear to me that the only limitations I have are made by myself. I knew I could always come back to engineering and I should make a leap of faith. I stumbled upon someone’s success story online and I said to myself that I wanted to live that kind of life too. I think we are given opportunities in life and we must just keep our eyes and hearts open.

Where is your business based?
Physically my business is based in the U.S., but I am managing it from the other side of the world in Romania. It has been exciting and challenging at the same time.
What were the first few steps you took to get your business up and running?
In my first few steps, I took a business class that lasted several months. I read everything I could find. I followed and listened to successful people to learn the right mindset, what mistakes to avoid, and what I could apply in my own business.
What has been the most effective way of raising awareness of your business and getting new customers?
I am raising awareness though Amazon ads, Facebook ads, and posts on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest.
What have been your biggest challenges so far?
Taking a break. I’m always striving for perfection and when I get involved, I commit 100%. So for me in was hard to learn that there always is going to be work to do and I need to find a balance. I am still learning how to manage the workload since I find myself working long hours for my LA ARONET dream.
Another big challenge I face is the fact that I’m managing my U.S. business from Romania. Being so far away it’s been hard to connect to customers and businesses like salons, spas, retreats, and hotels.
How did you overcome these challenges?
I am constantly learning how to better prioritize and structure my daily routine. I set rules about my breaks – I go outside in the sun for at least 20 minutes a day, I go jogging, and I am also trying out meditation.
I am always present online, working to get the word out about my Royelle hair towel. I have also met some amazing people along the way who have helped me with my Royelle dream.
How do you keep motivated through difficult times?
I have a few things I do. First, I always think of how grateful I am for everything that’s in my life and I also think back on all my accomplishments so far. I feel in difficult times we tend to forget our capabilities. I run or exercise, I talk to my family and I listen to other people’s journey to success – these things always keep my spirits high.
How do you distinguish yourself from your competitors?
I would say the difference is great customer service, quality products, attention to detail, elegance and sophistication, and the true desire to make all women feel beautiful.
What is the best advice you have received recently?
- Don’t forget to stop and take a breath.
- Create a time diary: Structure your entire day around what time of day you are most productive and use that time to work on business.
I am monitoring my time daily and I can see where I need to do better and I am improving my time diary day by day. I tend to spend a lot of time in an unproductive way, I get distracted or focused on secondary tasks. I need to be better with prioritizing and keeping a time diary helps.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
It’s very important to be aware of the difference between being an employee and having your own business. You must stay determined and able to keep a balance in your life. There will be amazing days and terrible days. It’s a journey.
I can’t stress enough how important is to surround yourself with people with the same mindset. Follow them, talk to them, meet them. It will be vital to keep you on track and give you the power to keep going.
- Learn
- Apply
- Aim high
What are your favorite business tools/resources and why?
At the moment, I am doing most of the work manually. I like to control the outcome, and I think it’s important to first learn manually how things work and then you can automate your business.
What is a good article or book you have read recently?
I just finished reading “How to Win Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie. This book is filled with stories that teach you how you should think and act towards people near you for a happy and successful life. The lessons can be applied to business, family, or even a stranger you bump into on the street. It helps you understand how your interactions can lead you to your desired results.
What are you currently learning about for your business or looking for help with?
I am always listening to the most recent podcasts, webinars and read the news to stay up to date with changes in the market and new strategies I can apply in my business. One of the toughest tasks is learning to create profitable ads.
What are your goals for the next few months and how are you striving to achieve them?
My goals for the next few months are to expand Royelle to spas, retreats, hotels, and shops and to add new products to the LA ARONET line. I am currently working to get connected with retailers and researching new product opportunities. So hopefully soon my hard work will pay off!
