How is the menstrual cup NOT the gold standard for every woman’s cycle, especially for businesswomen?
Besides the obvious – we just don’t see menstrual cups being advertised on television. They aren’t the norm. They are unique.
Even though the cup is becoming more known as a period product, it’s still not widely used in America, which is perplexing because Americans are worker-bees.
If you’re a woman who wants to make the business day less stressful and more productive during your period, here are the top 5 reasons why using a menstrual cup will help.
1. NO REASON TO RUN TO A RESTROOM
The biggest and most notable reason is a (quality) menstrual cup can be left inside your vagina for up to 12 hours without needing to be emptied. No need to stop your business day to find a bathroom every hour or two.
Time = Money.
2. NO DOWNTIME
Menstrual cups allows your blood to flow without the hindrance of a tampon, therefore, it’s been reported that cramps can be alleviated. Without the horrible cramping, you can focus on getting into work instead of staying in your sheets swallowing a bunch of Midol.
3. NO MORE THROWING AWAY MONEY
You’re making money at your job. Why throw it away, literally? A menstrual cup helps women save approximately, $4,350.00 over the course of their menstrual years (and that’s just tampons and pads), not including destroyed panties, liners, pain relievers, and other period paraphernalia.
If you’re saving money, you can emotionally and mentally be more productive. The average woman only needs 3 to 4 menstrual cups over the duration of her menstruating life equaling only $350.00 total.
4. NO MORE POLLUTION
It’s good business to help save the planet. So, could the menstrual cup be a tax write-off? Well, not yet. However, when you do your part to offer the purchasing of menstrual cups in your office’s restrooms instead of chemically infused tampons, you’re saving money and the planet.
By the way, if it’s your office, you could be selling $30 – $45 cups at your own inner-office mark-up price. You could make money while saving your own money, and contributing less pollution to our oceans and landfills.
Make purchasing a cup an incentive to buy via “Gifting Charity Programs” attached to certain menstrual cup brands.
5. NO MORE WASTED HOURS SHOPPING
Finally, instead of taking time to shop for the perfect non-leak tampon (no such thing), panty liners, pads, and period undies, you can put that time into your business. Can you recall how many hours you’ve wasted at CVS or Walgreens trying to negotiate price, fit, and dependability? With a menstrual cup, your time is given back to you and increases productivity hours.
You’ll never need to search for a tampon in your purse (assuming you remembered to take them), in a bathroom, or beg for one from a colleague or friend again. If you’ve been on the fence about trying a menstrual cup for personal reasons, put those aside, and try it for good business reasons. Once the cup is up, you’re golden for the entire business day.

Not having to deal with it every 2-3 hours when I have a heavy flow is the biggest bonus for me about menstrual cups compared to tampons. And, at night too! I can actually sleep without having to get up.

I know right! It’s the best!
