Trenity Dobbey wanted to help people the way that she had been helped in the past, so she launched T3LifeCoaching to help women and teens learn how to make better decisions and develop the necessary skills to set and accomplish goals for their lives. Read our interview with the lovely Trenity below…
What motivated and inspired you to start your own business?
I started my business because I wanted to help people the way I have been helped in the past. I have made some bad decisions in my life but was fortunate enough to have people enter my life at the right time to help me get back on track, set goals for myself, and provide me with the tools and motivation to do so. I want to help people get back on track and stay on track.
Tell us about your business.
My business offers life coaching services both individually and in groups for teens and women. I specialize in providing empowerment and motivation coaching to develop the necessary skills to set and accomplish goals.
Are you currently running any promos/contests/giveaways that you would like our readers to know about?
I currently offer free 30-minute consultations to potential clients.
Where is your business based?
Chicago, IL and surrounding areas. I will travel if needed.
What were the first few steps you took to get your business up and running?
I did research to see if there were any brands that were similar to mine. I also asked friends and family what they thought about the services I planned to offer and if they would be interested if they did not know me. I also took time to develop my brand and services.
What has been the most effective way of raising awareness of your business and getting new customers?
Initially I did a lot of foot work and contacting people, sponsoring events, and doing tons of social media posting to get my business out there and recognized. Most recently, I teamed up with Nirvana Relations LLC who will be working on rebranding and marketing for my business and brand.
What have been your biggest challenges so far?
Staying motivated when I feel discouraged and defeated.
How did you overcome these challenges?
The results of my current clients as well as the continued support from family and friends, I also think to why I initially started my business.
How do you keep motivated through difficult times?
Honestly I pray and remind myself of why I started in the first place.
How did you distinguish yourself from your competitors?
By staying true to who I am and following my heart and passion.
What is the best advice you have received recently?
My husband recently told me don’t stop! He said don’t stop believing in myself, my brand, and my ability.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
Be true to yourself, be true to your brand, and be consistent and authentic. I would also say take the no’s as sometimes a no is a yes waiting to happen.
What is your favorite business tool or resource?
I love Canva! You can use it to make flyers and other promotional and business items like business cards, documents with letter head, Ebooks etc.

What is a good article or book you have read recently?
I read a book titled “Girl on the Train”. Thrilling and amazing! If you really read the book you will pick on the hidden gems about how women can become content and stuck in life, work, relationships, etc., and how sometimes you have to do what you have to do to break free from what or who is holding you back.
What are you currently learning about for your business or looking for help with?
Marketing and branding as well as developing and broadening my audience.
What are your goals for the next few months and how are you striving to achieve them?
I want to increase my clientele as well as my public speaking bookings, and continue to develop amazing, beneficial, and fundamental content.
