What motivated and inspired you to start your own business?
A visceral urge to follow my calling to empower people all around the world to achieve their highest potential and put everything that I had been doing over the past year and a half into a formal structure of my own digital media company! This is easily the best decision I have ever made, and I am so happy I made the move.
Tell us about your business.

Where is your business based?
San Francisco, California.Â
What were the first few steps you took to get your business up and running?
First, very intuitive, but not so simple – incorporating the business and deciding which type of classification to pursue, LLC, LLP, sole proprietorship, etc. I had to do a lot of research to figure out what would be the best option for me, my long-term needs, as well as my offerings.
What has been the most effective way of raising awareness of your business and getting new customers?
My unique advantage is that I am a brand, and my brand is my business, so essentially, I am my own business. The greatest aspect of this is that I can leverage social and traditional media to drive traffic to my individual services, which has been such a blessing.
What have been your biggest challenges so far?
Navigating a thoroughly unchartered and unexplored road, because no woman has accomplished what I have and will continue to accomplish in building the first global lifestyle brand headlined by an Indian-American centered around personal development.
How did you overcome these challenges?
Infinite trust and confidence in myself and my own abilities, because I have to love myself and believe that I can accomplish this feat, before I can be in a position to persuade anyone else.
How do you keep motivated through difficult times?
Envisioning the future that I have created for myself in my mind is superbly inspiring. Every time I feel a little disheartened, I just look within into my soul and feel SO excited about what I am building and the life that I will be able to provide for myself, the world, and my present and future family of my own.
How do you distinguish yourself from your competitors?
The sheer versatility, volume, and frequency of my accomplishments distinguish me from anyone else in the business and or the world, and I plan to continue producing at this pace for the rest of my life because this is who I am, and I am finally living out my greatest dreams!
What is the best advice you have received recently?
Build a life, not simply a career, which is very much my mission, because I truly believe that a holistic and fulfilling life is powerful, and will only enhance the quality of our careers.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
Do not under-estimate the power of self-promotion and simply asking for what you want! I am a fierce go-getter girl and believe that every single female entrepreneur, especially, should embrace her unapologetic ambition to write one of the greatest stories ever written, and strive hard to accomplish the craziest of her dreams in changing the world for good, because that is who we are, we are not normal, and we are not average. So, ASK for what you need and be unapologetic!
What is your favorite business tool or resource?
Business magazines aka my favorites, Forbes, Inc., Entrepreneur, The Economist, The Wall Street Journal, as well as a bunch of podcasts. One of my favorites is The Harvard Business Review HBR IdeaCast.Â

What is a good article or book you have read recently?
I just wrapped up Sophia Amoruso’s “Girl Boss”, which is literally a MUST READ for every female entrepreneur because her journey of pure struggles, infinite hustle, and an unrelentingly fierce drive to ultimately accomplish her wildest dreams. She is an inspirational businesswoman and her journey serves as an example that the road to entrepreneurship is riddled with failures, setbacks, and the highest of highs, but that what distinguishes the true winners are those who simply keep fighting to create positive value in the world through their products and services.
What are you currently learning about for your business or looking for help with?
Over the next year, I am definitely looking into diversifying and growing my number of revenue streams, so I am researching into creative means by which to do exactly that via reading into other media entrepreneurs’ stories and using a bit of my own creative freedom in thinking about how I want to add value.
What are your goals for the next few months and how are you striving to achieve them?
My number one goal over the next few months is to diversify and grow my revenue streams to continue to add the greatest maximum possible value to the world in empowering people to achieve their highest potential!
