What motivated and inspired you to start your own business?
It took living two very different types of lifestyles to learn what kind of life I truly wanted to live. In the process, I learned that it was my greatest passion to help others create that type of lifestyle for themselves as well.
I spent 8 years working in the corporate world, chasing wealth and working hundreds of 16 hour days in a row with no days off. I was money hungry, but there was no living, because I had to sacrifice everything else in my life that was important to me.
I then spent 2 years living in Costa Rica running my own yoga retreat center and studio. I had all the time in the world to live the lifestyle of my dreams, but there was no real opportunity to make money or feed my ambition.
When I moved back to Toronto, I knew there had to be a way to blend both experiences and to live an adventurous, exciting life while building my wealth. I created a system to do just that. I designed my ideal life and worked backwards to build a business that would fit that exact life. Now I make a living showing others how to do the exact same thing. There is nothing I can possibly imagine that could be more rewarding!

Where is your business based?
My business is based in Toronto, Canada.
What were the first few steps you took to get your business up and running?
I hired a business coach to help me organize my ideas and work out the necessary action steps to take. I truly believe that the most successful people in the world have coaches, and it is completely necessary in order to grow and expand. The most important thing that I did was take immediate and massive action.
What has been the most effective way of raising awareness of your business and getting new customers?
The most effective method of raising awareness for my business has been social media. I have worked hard at building both my personal and business brands through Facebook and Instagram. Facebook live is an amazing tool and has helped me to gain a lot of traction.
What have been your biggest challenges so far?
The biggest challenge so far has been knowing when to learn a new skill and when to outsource the work. When starting a new business you almost need to be a master at 10 different skills: coaching, content creation, social media management, branding, marketing, web development, sales, design, customer service, book keeping etc. Later down the road we shift gears to only focusing on the things we are the very best at, and those that will have the biggest impact on the success of our business. At the beginning, the need to be a jack of all trades can be quite challenging and overwhelming.
How did you overcome these challenges?
I overcame this challenge by being honest with myself. About my goals and my skills and what was truly worth my time. I chose wisely the things that I would focus my time and energy on, and I outsourced to some very skilled individuals for everything else. It took some very honest conversations with myself to admit that I couldn’t always be the one to do everything, even though my business is my baby.
How do you keep motivated through difficult times?
To me, vision is the most important component. I have created a very powerful vision for my life and my business and it motivates me when times get tough. I also believe that it is extremely important that we choose our circle of influence wisely. I keep a few key people close to me that are completely sold on my vision unconditionally. They believe in me and support me, and when I am struggling they can remind me of my goals and why I started this.
How do you distinguish yourself from your competitors?
People come first. I always choose to put people first, and create extreme value for my clients. Yes I charge for my services, but I don’t do what I do for the money. I am a coach because my favorite feeling in the world is when I get to witness the transformations that my clients take while their lives evolve and their dreams come true! My job is not finished until they have achieved much more than what they expected to get out of the program.
Some people adopt the moto: under promise, over deliver. I live by the mentality to over promise and over deliver! It’s simple, my clients get massive results and I will never give up on them.
I believe so much in my message and my methods that my passion for my craft shines so brightly out of me every single day, and that is what people feel when they work with me.
What is the best advice you have received recently?
We must create value from our customer’s perspective not from our own. Put yourself in their shoes, find out what is important to them and deliver a valuable solution to their challenges.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
The power you put behind your vision will directly impact the speed at which you make it a reality. If you do not have a very clear picture of exactly what you want, you will never create it.

I love to create most of my content on Canva.

What are you currently learning about for your business or looking for help with?
I am currently learning about digital marketing and automation.
What are your goals for the next few months and how are you striving to achieve them?
- I am just about to launch a brand new 6-month group coaching program called ‘The Ultimate Success Blueprint Program’, and I plan to have the program full (30 participants) within 90 days of the launch. This program is going to be very positively impactful and I cannot wait to kick it off!
- Also I have set a goal to start writing my first paperback book in June.
- In order to hold myself accountable to these goals I have shared them with my vision keepers, and asked them to regularly check up on me. Their support keeps me motivated, and I get excited to share the results with those few key people in my life.
