Jasmine Tosseth overcame domestic and sexual abuse, infertility, divorce, alcohol, drugs, and suicide to become an empowerment and business coach to help other women know that they are not alone and that there is support out there! Read our interview with the lovely Jasmine below…
What motivated and inspired you to start your own business?
Pain, fear and having figured out how to conquer both in my own life. I am a victim of domestic and sexual abuse. I was a teen mom. I suffered from infertility. I have been divorced and a single mother of 3 on welfare. I was a drunk, pill popper that attempted suicide – but I WON! I was inspired to start my business because there are so many other women out there that need to know they can win too at life and in business – they just have to reconnect with the power they have inside!

Are you currently running any promos/contests/giveaways that you would like our readers to know about?
Yes I am. My 6 week 1:1 “Dare to Dream Program” is currently open and at an amazing early bird price that you just have to ask me about! It is for those who may feel stuck right now and not 100% sure of what to do next. For women who desire to live their life full of passion and purpose; to live a life that lights them up. A life that is their’s and to live it on their own terms. The program is for women ready to embrace the beautiful, bold, badass that they know is inside themselves. This is the program for new business owners that need clarity in their business and that want actionable step-by-step guidance in setting up their business, becoming visible online, positioning themselves as an expert and getting paying clients. Life and circumstances have just gotten in the way and they have lost contact with the unique, amazing force of nature they truly are. All that you need at this point is support and some guidance on the path to finding your voice, spreading your wings and learning not only to fly… but to SOAR!
Where is your business based?
I am located in Linton, North Dakota but I work virtually with my clients via Skype and Zoom.
What were the first few steps you took to get your business up and running?
- My first step was hiring a business coach. It was a complete game changer.
- Getting visible online. With the help of my business coach I created a social media strategy that worked to get me visible and position me as an expert in my field.
- I worked at setting up my systems. All the apps and monthly subscription services that keep my business running and give me the time to focus on actually coaching my clients.
What has been the most effective way of raising awareness of your business and getting new customers?
Without a doubt it has been social media! However I am very careful not to just post for the sake of posting. I want anyone, my ideal client or not, to get value from my post. To have a useful takeaway that they can apply to their lives and make them better. In addition, I work on building relationships with people. My clients are people not just dollar signs and numbers on a statistics board. I do my very best to convey this message via all my social media channels and to let women know that they have infinite power within them to be and do whatever they desire.
What have been your biggest challenges so far?
My many fears. Fear of failure. Fear of being a fraud. Fear of success. Fear of all the many moving parts it takes to run a business.
How did you overcome these challenges?
A killer mindset routine that I developed that helped me conquer my fears and find my confidence and inner ‘badassery’. The best part is that my mindset routine only takes 10 minutes a day! It encompasses: Creative visualization, meditation, mindfulness and journaling. I have discovered how to leverage the universe and it made ALL the difference.
How do you keep motivated through difficult times?
My husband and children are a major motivating factor for me. So is my past. I know how bad things can get. I know what it is like to struggle, to feel lost, alone, confused and overwhelmed. I use the lessons that I have learnt from my past to fuel my fire. To propel me forward. I am also motivated by my clients. I learn lessons from them daily. Seeing them working towards their goals and understanding my role in supporting them, lights me up. I am motivated by their successes big and small.
How did you distinguish yourself from your competitors?
I have lived through a lot of what my clients have gone through and crawled my way out so I understand the major undertaking it is and what is required. I help women leverage the power of the universe in a way that is real and practical and easy for them to manage. The fact that I work 1:1 with my clients also means that I tailor the coaching journey to each individual client I serve. Cookie cutters belong in the kitchen, not in my coaching practice.
What is the best advice you have received recently?
Look back at all you have accomplished so far and take the time to celebrate the wins along the way.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
There is support. You are not alone. Invest in a business/life coach. It really and truly is worth the investment and will save you a lot of time, energy and frustration.

- I am loving Dubsudo for all my client management tools.
