There is life after tragedy. Christina is all about the restoration of life. Read our interview with the lovely Christina below…
What motivated and inspired you to start your own business?
After working for many years and coming to a place where I could no longer do that I had to find my purpose. Conquering domestic violence along with some other issues of brokenness I found that my purpose was to show others that you could live a healthy life after abuse.
Tell us about your business.
I am a Certified Christian Life Coach, Speaker and Mentor. I assist women in overcoming the pains of life so that they can walk in purpose. I offer one on one coaching and group coaching. I also host Vision Board Parties. I speak on various subjects such as domestic violence, breaking soul ties, rejection and forgiveness.
Are you currently running any promos/contests/giveaways that you would like our readers to know about?
I am currently running a 10 day press & push challenge on Facebook to help assist people on getting a jumpstart on planning for their vision. Also I am scheduling two 30 minute sessions to the first 5 people who schedule with me here at https://calendly.com/straighttalkchris.
Where is your business based?
New Bern, NC.
What were the first few steps you took to get your business up and running?
First, I took a course in life coaching to become certified. I then began volunteering at the domestic violence shelter. I wanted to be able to help women without my own experience blocking me from giving them the assistance that they need.
What has been the most effective way of raising awareness of your business and getting new customers?
I would have to say social media and word of mouth. By doing live videos on Facebook and periscope. Also I have a Facebook group that I run this allows me to interact with women in a more private setting.
What have been your biggest challenges so far?
My biggest challenge I would have to say is marketing my business.
How did you overcome these challenges?
I am currently working with a coach to assist me in this area. But meanwhile I have not stopped trying. I am consistent in all I do.
How do you keep motivated through difficult times?
My faith in the vision that God gave me keeps me motivated. I continue to push and press my way through. I pray and take time out to meditate on what is going on in my life.
How do you distinguish yourself from your competitors?
By being myself? I could never be anyone else so why try? I give people the true me and I make no apologies for it. Also I share my story without shame not trying to hide… just being transparent.
What is the best advice you have received recently?
That would have to be watching the video where Steve Harvey said to JUMP!
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
Never allow another to tell you that your vision is to big. Push your way through all the naysayers and never give up on yourself or your vision.
What is your favorite business tool or resource?
Social media has been a great asset for me but I love speaking in front of people. Being able to have personal interaction with people is the best. It gives them a chance to truly see me but most importantly it gives me a chance to build something more personal.
