What motivated and inspired you to start your own business?
After working in the corporate scene for over a decade, I started my own business so that I could incorporate all I’ve learned in an effort to inspire and manage people in health and fitness. I’m excited to show people that maybe their body isn’t sick, it may just be thirsty.
Tell us about your business.
The theme of our company is “Change your water, change your life.” Our water helps detoxify the internal organs, neutralizes free radicals that cause disease and flushes acid waste from the body. Our medical grade water device sits on your counter or under your sink allowing you to get fresh alkalized water in your very own home. Just imagine, unlimited water at your fingertips… you’ll never need to lug heavy bottled water again.
List awards / certifications / accomplishments.
Water Quality Association Gold Seal Certificate – Enagic is the ONLY ionizer manufacturer in the world with this coveted certification.
Where is your business based?
The Enagic headquarters is located in Japan and we have offices in Los Angeles, NY, Chicago, Honolulu, Dallas, Seattle, and Orlando.
What were the first few steps you took to get your business up and running?
My first step was to be a user of my own product, so I drank the water all day every day and used the other waters throughout my household. Next, I made a list of 100 people I could reach out to, then began to give water out to my family and friends. I was overly-impressed with how they saw improvements in acid reflux, constipation, cholesterol, and the list goes on. I also purchased business cards and started talking to people I didn’t know. All with the goal of educating people on the importance of hydration.
What has been the most effective way of raising awareness of your business and getting new customers?
The most effective way of raising awareness has been exposing people to live demonstrations where we show in living color how several different bottled and tap waters affect the body in an acidic way and then we reveal our water that hydrates on a cellular level.
What have been your biggest challenges so far?
The biggest challenge is that everyone drinks water, so it’s not easy to disseminate this information to all the people who need to know about it.
How did you overcome these challenges?
The best way to get this great information to all parties has been to incorporate a social media campaign tailored toward people whose lifestyles are geared toward health and fitness.
How do you keep motivated through difficult times?
To get through the difficult times, I remember my “why” which is to educate people to take a healthier perspective with regards to pain and ailments. What if I can help someone reduce their dependence on medication? That’s all I need to keep me going.
How do you distinguish yourself from your competitors?
The greatest thing is that the competition does it for me, gotta love it, every single one compares their product to ours. So we’re obviously the leader in the industry. We’re the only one that will allow you to sample the water for free before you buy the medical water device. Our company has been around for 42 years, so we’re a trusted organization with a history or high performance. And last, but not least, if Bill Gates decided he had to have one, come on… shouldn’t everybody?
What is the best advice you have received recently?
The best advice I’ve received lately is… “this setback is only a set up for your comeback”.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
Get up every day and tell yourself that “something great is going to happen TODAY!” And then watch it manifest throughout the day. You’ll see so many doors open.
What is your favorite business tool or resource?
My favorite tool is my smile/mouth piece… the more people I talk to about the benefits of Kangen Water, the better I’ll do every day.
What is a good article or book you have read recently?
I just finished the “Happy Vegan” by Russell Simmons. It’s a great read that’s really easy to understand.
What are you currently learning about for your business or looking for help with?
I’d like to build a team who can duplicate what I do by going out and doing seminars and workshops on health and hydration. So in essence, I need help with recruiting.
What are your goals for the next few months and how are you striving to achieve them?
My goal for the remainder of the year is to increase visibility in my cold market. To do this, I’m talking to new people every day and increasing my presence on social media.
